Chion-in Wajun Kaikan (Temple Stay)

Wajun Kaikan is temple lodging, or shukubo, within the precincts of Chion-in, one of Kyoto's grandest temples. The lodging explicitly handles both English and Japanese. A five-minute walk from Yasaka Shrine in Gion, guests can join morning and evening zazen meditation and Buddhist services led by resident monks — an immersive stay for foreign visitors.
