Asahiyaki's slab-building experience in Uji (1 to 2 hours, from 4,950 yen) uses a mold and a sheet of clay to form a tea bowl or cup, a method the studio describes as easier to control than the wheel. Finished pieces are fired by the studio and ready in about three months. Booking is via the official reservation page.
