Hanazono Kaikan (Myoshin-ji Temple Lodging)

Hanazono Kaikan is lodging run directly by Myoshin-ji, the great Zen temple complex in northwestern Kyoto. Foreign guests can book through English-language OTAs, though phone reservations are handled in Japanese at 075-461-5500. Set right beside the temple precincts, it is a convenient base for visiting Kinkaku-ji and Ryoan-ji, and the temple atmosphere extends to the guest rooms. Early mornings in the temple precincts are especially atmospheric.
