Nishijin Weave Lampshade Experience (Sousen Tsuzure-en)

A Nishijin weaving lampshade experience at Sousen Tsuzure-en, with English support available. The studio was founded by an artisan honored with the Zuiho Tanko-sho medal for contributions to traditional crafts. Machine-woven Nishijin silk fabric becomes an elegant lampshade, with a choice of 300 thread colors, and finished pieces go home the same day. Participants must be 10 or older. The finished lampshade makes a distinctive, lasting souvenir of Kyoto craftsmanship.
