Kyoto City Hall Plaza

The plaza in front of Kyoto City Hall sits opposite the Western-style city government building, completed in 1927. Located near the Museum of Kyoto, Nishiki Market, Pontocho, and Gion, the open space hosts a monthly flea market and is available for private events. It is also a good spot to view the float processions of the Gion Matsuri and Jidai Matsuri festivals.
