Hosomi Museum

A private museum (opened 1998) in Okazaki holding three generations of the Hosomi family's Japanese art collection, famed for Edo-period painting including Jakuchu and Rinpa works. Several themed special exhibitions a year, plus the "Kokou-an" tea room and JAKUCHU CAFE on site. Admission varies by exhibition, usually just over ¥1,000. Off the bus at "Okazaki Park Museum/Heian Shrine-mae"; exhibition texts are mostly in Japanese.
