京都府立植物園
The Kyoto Botanical Garden, in Shimogamo, Sakyo-ku, is Japan's oldest public botanical garden, opened in 1924. Its grounds of about 240,000 square metres hold about 10,000 plant species, and its conservatory displays about 4,500 species. About 500 cherry trees bloom in spring, and maples and other trees colour in autumn, with seasonal exhibitions and events held in the garden.
