The 1,833-seat shoebox-style main hall of Kyoto Concert Hall (opened 1995, designed by Isozaki Arata), home to the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. Its giant 7,155-pipe organ and acoustics by Nagata Acoustics make it a classical-music landmark. All seats are reserved; late entry is usually refused, so arrive early. Near Kitayama subway station (3 min walk). Prices vary by concert; tickets available on the official site.
