Kyoto Eco Trip's flagship shop is a 2-minute walk from Kyoto Station's Hachijo West Exit (58 Higashikujo Muromachi, Minami Ward), and the largest in the Eco Trip network. Standard rental runs 9:00 AM-6:00 PM (paid early pickup/night return available). Seven bike types from 3-speed city bikes to electric-assist, child-seat and kids' bikes, with a free English cycling map and English-language service.
Before you go
A Kyoto City-authorized bicycle rental shop (Authorized Rental Bicycle Shop). The flagship is the largest of the Eco Trip shops. Bike lineup: B Type 3-speed ¥1,200, EA electric-assist ¥2,400, X Type cross bike ¥2,000 (flagship only, 26-inch 8-speed internal hub, no basket), MF front child seat ¥1,500 (ages 1-4, up to 100cm/15kg), MR rear child seat ¥1,500 (ages 1-6, up to 115cm/22kg), EM electric-assist with child seat ¥2,700, K Type for kids ¥1,200 (125cm+, helmet free). Free original cycling map (English version available); free luggage storage at the shop, luggage delivery to your hotel ¥1,000, return at your hotel ¥700, return at the Shijo-Karasuma shop ¥500. - 58 Higashikujo Muromachi, Minami Ward, Kyoto (Harikoji-dori Shinmachi higashi-iru). 2-minute walk from Kyoto Station Hachijo West Exit (official). Exit Hachijo West, go straight along the road west (right) of the MK taxi stand in front of you, turn right at the first intersection.

- Online advance reservation is available; walk-ins also accepted. Early pickup (6:30-8:30, ¥300) and night return (18:01-22:00, ¥400) cost extra. For next-day use, reserve by phone by 17:00 the day before.

- No seat limits to worry about; reception and phone service pause 8:31-8:59 for staff meetings.
- Good for
- Travelers staying near Kyoto Station who want to cycle around Kyoto; families with small children (child-seat and kids' bikes); long-distance riders needing early pickup or night return.
- How it differs
- Unlike ordinary rental shops, Eco Trip is authorized by Kyoto City and runs a full English website aimed at international visitors. The flagship is the largest shop in the network and the only one carrying the X Type cross bike. Early pickup (from 6:30) and night return (until 22:00) options suit long-distance riders.
What are the opening hours?
Standard hours are 9:00 AM-6:00 PM. Paid early pickup is available 6:30-8:30 (¥300), and paid night return 18:01-22:00 (¥400).
Do I need a reservation?
You can reserve online in advance, or just walk in. Reserve by phone by 17:00 the day before for next-day use.
Can I pay by card?
Cash, credit cards (VISA/MasterCard/JCB/AMEX/DISCOVER/Diners Club) and PayPay. Transit IC cards and other e-money are not accepted.
Is English supported?
Yes. The official site is in English, the original cycling map comes in an English version, and the shop caters to international visitors.
