The current exhibition wing (opened 2014, designed by Taniguchi Yoshio) of one of Japan's oldest national museums, showing paintings, sculpture, ceramics, and calligraphy, including national treasures. Regular exhibitions: adults ¥700; special exhibitions usually around ¥1,800. Five minutes from Keihan Shichijo Station, or by bus to "Hakubutsukan Sanjusangendo-mae". Some exhibitions restrict photography; English audio guides are available for rent.
