Enshrining Toyotomi Hideyoshi, founded in 1599 per his will; abandoned after the Toyotomi fall and rebuilt by order of the Meiji Emperor. The national-treasure Karamon gate at the front is said to be a remnant of Fushimi Castle. The Sadateru Shrine on the grounds, dedicated to his wife Nene, is popular for matchmaking prayers; the shrine is known for success and good fortune. Near the Kyoto National Museum.
