Special Vehicle Display: "24 Series Passenger Car Orone 24 No. 4"
特別な車両公開「24系客車オロネ24形4号車」
Before you go
The museum opens the interiors of its exhibit cars mainly on weekends; in November the featured car is 24-series Orone 24-4. Staff give short guided sessions in the morning, and the afternoon is free viewing.
- An A-class sleeper built in 1973, formerly on the Akatsuki and Suisei
- Pullman-style open two-tier berths with a central corridor and no compartment doors
- Booking
- No booking is needed. The morning guided sessions are first come, capped at 20 people each, and close when full; participants gather in front of Kuha 489-1 on the first floor of the main building before the start, and during a guided session only participants may view the car interior.
- Good for
- For visitors interested in sleeper trains and Japanese National Railways-era rolling stock.
