MEETUP KYOTO FESTIVAL
Before you go
Run by Blending Community (KYOTO LAUNDRY CAFE) and co-hosted by Kyoto City and the Kyoto City International Foundation, this multicultural festival takes over kokoka's garden and indoor halls. The program includes stage performances, a culture market, Japanese culture workshops, and free life-and-work consultations for foreign residents—with administrative scriveners and tax accountants on site.
- Three sessions: Nov 28, 2026, Dec 19, 2026, Jan 23, 2027 (all Saturdays)
- Getting there
- At kokoka Kyoto International Community House (garden and halls): 2-1 Awataguchi Torii-cho, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto. Reachable via Keage Station on the Tozai subway line (per kokoka's official access guide).
- Good for
- Foreign residents in Kyoto (free life-and-work consultations); anyone wanting a multicultural festival atmosphere; people interested in Japanese culture workshops. Consultations and exchanges are mainly in Japanese and English.
- How it differs
- Unlike evening international meetups built around chatting, this is a daytime festival format: stage, market, workshops, plus practical free consultation booths. Compared with paid culture classes, entry and consultations are free—only market shopping and workshops cost extra.
The festival runs three sessions: November 28, 2026, December 19, 2026, and January 23, 2027, all Saturdays. The official title is 'KYOTO OPEN CITY LABO.' The organizers note that programs and participating booths may vary by date, so two visits won't be identical.
Do I need a ticket?
